"I own this and the TAKU which I prefer for more extreme days. The Callan packs down well and is great to stash in your EDC backpack wherever you go. It does not have "pit-zips" for venting, which I'm used to from other lighweight rain jackets, but I haven't decided if I miss this feature or not, since more zippers typically mean more failure points. Used for every day use and emergency response @ work."

"One of my best purchases in 2024 was without doubt, Mustang Survival’s Men’s Callan Waterproof Jacket. Picked up same to ward off the ever present rain in BC never knowing how handy it would come more than 13,000 km away from home. However, on my recent trip to the country of my birth, Sri Lanka, I rolled up and tucked this jacket in to my back pack and it accompanied me on most of my travails even in the searing heat of mid to high 30 degree Celsius weather. From experience, I knew that tropical torrential downpours could strike at any time without warning and would leave you absolutely soaked through and through, if you didn’t have the proper gear for same. As you can see from the pictures in Galle Fort, Sri Lanka, my Callan jacket came through for me by keeping my phone and more importantly, my wife’s and my passports (which I insisted on carrying on me all the time), absolutely bone dry. Alas, several members of my tour were not so lucky, as I witnessed them later that night buying rice from a nearby market, in vain attempts to try and dry out their phones even though they were supposedly waterproof. Lessons learnt : Continue to pack the Callan jacket for all future trips and also purchase a Callan pant. You never know ……"

"It’s winter now ; I wear it almost every day , on West coast of Canada.. as a shell on warmer days and with a down jacket on cold days. It is longer in length and arm length … it looks great & is what I was looking for. A bit snug in the hips to zip up for me but ok. Highly recommend❤️"
